New video: “Combatting Hate Crimes: Civil Society Practices” webinar

“Combatting Hate Crimes: Civil Society Practices” webinar, which aimed to discuss the strategies used by various non-governmental organizations working on hate crimes as well as the paths opened by civil society, was held on June 20, 2023.

The ways of addressing hate crimes from around the world and from Turkey and creating a common space to combat these crimes were explored in the webinar.

In the webinar, moderated by Betsy Penso from Avlaremoz, firstly, Dr. Anna Tatar shared the experiences of Never Again, which works on racism and discrimination in Poland. Bill Howe talked about the work of the UK-based Stop Hate UK against discrimination and hate crimes. Finally, Funda Tekin addressed the Freedom of Belief Initiative’s work on hate crimes motivated by bias based on religion, belief or non-belief.
